The CSN community is full of stories. Each CSN member, each consulting client, each speaker at the SPRE Summit or events, each community animator or facilitates manager that comes across a CSN resources, each have their own story. Every nonprofit center or SPRE space is unique with their own kind of magic, and the people that run these spaces have their own journeys of how they got there and why their work is so meaningful to them.
At our recent professional development series, we were lucky enough to hear 8 unique stories. Speakers from the Kahanhoff Centre, Comal Heritage Food Incubator, The Jones Center, The Glasser Schoenbaum Human Services Center, CreaTV San Jose, Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit, Life Remodeled, and Serve Denton, all shared their SPRE journeys and how their space is distinctive. Hearing how many different ways SPRE spaces can be utilized to build community, meet people’s needs, and create accessibility to things like safe spaces for youth, economic opportunities through a community kitchen, affordability for artists and makers, and so much more, highlighted again why social purpose real estate is a critical tool for community good.
So while each of you are out there living your own story, just know that you are a part of something bigger. The unique stories of each and every one of you as SPRE leaders is what makes up the CSN community, inspires us as the CSN team, and builds the societal impact of quality community serving spaces.
