Module 1: Introduction to Asset Management
What happens when the roof needs repairing or the windows need to be replaced? Asset management is planning for the long term stewardship of your building – as a financial asset, as a workplace, and as the place where you welcome your community. We discuss planning a major capital improvement project, portfolio management, and the responsibilities of organizations that own their facilities or that have responsibility for the capital needs of their leased facility.

In this module, we highlight vendor selection, different types of leasing and licensing, and tenant relations, all through a social purpose real estate lens. We review what typically falls under a property manager role and share tools for success.
