Since 1990, DCF has been working to strengthen the Central Oregon Community by providing the space and support where nonprofits succeed at helping children and families thrive. 1 in 10 families in the region turn to a DCF campus for help. DCF is more than just a place, it is a community, a safe haven, and a home for those working to create a better future for the most vulnerable among us. Our four campuses serve as a hub where 23 nonprofit partners provide essential services, refer families to one anotherās programs, and collaborate to create a seamless network of support. Together, we ensure that 19,000 children and families have access to the resources they need to build stability and a brighter future.Ā
What is one interesting fact about your space?
DCF removes the financial burden of operating costs associated with the upkeep, security, and maintenance of the campus spaces our nonprofit partners utilize. To our knowledge, there are no other nonprofit service centers in the region or state offering this unique model of reduced-rate office and classroom space and no-cost facility management. The motivation behind the foundation of this model was the recognition that shared spaces lead to convenient access to services for children and families, collaboration between organizations that provide services to this demographic, and overall reduced costs that translate to a greater capacity for our partners to provide care. By lowering rental rates and eliminating maintenance expenses, the DCF model saves nonprofits $1.4 million annually.
Our mission is so much more than just space! Deschutes Childrenās Foundation has trained Campus Advocates at each Community Campus providing critical building management, referral resources, and ensures that the campus is safe for our partners and those they serve are welcomed and supported. Our Campus Advocates are the heartbeat of our mission welcoming all partners and families with a warm smile and support. Whether it be answering questions, making referrals, or simply walking someone down the halls, our Campus Advocates do everything they can to ensure children and families have the resources they need to thrive. DCF fosters collaboration by creating opportunities for partners to connect, refer, and work together in serving children and families. We take pride in uniting organizations across Central Oregon and the state. Quarterly Partner Meetings at each campus strengthen relationships, ensuring nonprofit professionals can share resources and program information effectively.
