Member Highlight: Nonprofit Center at 41 Community Place

The Anne Arundel County Nonprofit Center (NPC) is a program of the local county government dedicated to supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Anne Arundel County. Our mission is to advance the health and wellness of county residents by offering capacity-building services that strengthen local nonprofits. NPC provides affordable office space in a collaborative, shared-building environment and delivers professional development opportunities in key areas like governance, fundraising, grant writing, data management, and program evaluation. By helping nonprofits enhance their operations and grow their impact, NPC plays a vital role in empowering organizations to better serve the community.Ā

The NPC building, originally constructed in the 1940s, was thoughtfully renovated in 2024 and will re-open its doors in late-spring 2025 to meet the modern needs of nonprofit organizations. Now equipped with security, WiFi, event space, and meeting rooms, the building blends historic significance with contemporary amenities.

Our building is situated on a 500+ acre plot of land with multiple historic buildings earmarked for renovation as part of a multi-year project called Crownsville Memorial Park, in Crownsville, Maryland.

Our favorite resource is our local county government! We encourage others to see what programs exist through their county government, and what potential there is for collaboration and partnerships. Weā€™ve found that there are many programs and/or departments that offer grants, training, or other services that pair well with a nonprofit center. Weā€™ve partnered with our local library to facilitate training on starting a new nonprofit, and weā€™ve partnered with our statistics department to offer training for data collection, management, and program evaluation.
