A Place for Community
The Kahanoff Centre is a unique community asset that offers affordable office and meeting space to charitable and non-profit organizations. Located in Mohkinstis, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, our mantra is Community Building and our Kahanoff Centre tenant partners are leading organizations, bringing their missions to life each day. It includes a heated and secure underground parkade, a daycare and the world renowned dance theatre Decidedly Jazz Danceworks offering year-round classes and outstanding artistic and performance productions . Perhaps the more remarkable feature of our property is the chance opportunities among community organizations. The Kahanoff Centre team facilitates many of these conversations through Lunch and Learn events, Leaders’ Forums, and other social opportunities.
What is one interesting fact about your space?
The Kahanoff Centre is actually 2 office towers joined. In 1979, Sydney and Fern Kahanoff established and endowed The Kahanoff Foundation. Its vision was to support and enable community initiatives, institutions and organizations. In 2012, the Kahanoff Centre was gifted to the Calgary Foundation who partnered with DJD to expand the Centre and develop a second tower. This expansion was completed in 2016 and includes the DJD Dance Centre.
When you cross from one building to the other you can feel a slight upward or downward sloping of the floor depending on which direction you are traveling!
What are your favorite resources that you would recommend to others?

• Community Spaces Network: knowing that there is a network of professionals to reach out to and connect with is helpful. Especially as new technologies and leadership ideas emerge.
