The excitement is building!

As our whole team is deep in the planning of our SPRE Summit happening in Detroit from October 24-26, I’ve started to think about what I’m personally most excited about. Between confirming buses, ordering name badges, updating the website, and a million other little things that come with planning an event, it’s easy to get lost in the details, but when I take a step back, I get overwhelmed with how much I’m excited about. Beyond meeting all of you in person, and hearing all of our amazing speakers, some of you might be able to guess what I’m most excited to experience: SPRE Tours!

Since I started this job a few years back, NCN members have mentioned the SPRE tours from past NCN conferences more times than I can count. The way they’ve felt the magic of a community as they walked into a nonprofit center, how they’ve learned something about space activation when they saw artwork hung in a staircase, or how they built solidarity with someone over the disappearing forks in a shared space on the tour bus ride. I know that getting to finally experience the ‘Community Space’ tours and ‘Economic Development’ tours at the SPRE Summit will be a highlight for me, and I hope that you all are able to join as well.

With some tours only having 10 spots or 16 spots left, I’m sure they will be full soon, so be sure to add on your SPRE Tour here if you haven’t already. Read more about the SPRE Tour stops here. Hint: one is also featured in our member highlight below!
