Member Highlight: Nonprofit Center of East Alabama

Established by the Samford-Cannon Foundation, the Nonprofit Center of East Alabama officially opened its doors for operation in March 2026. The Center offers a variety of workspace solutions tailored to the needs of regional 501(c)(3) organizations. The 17,000-square-foot facility includes 16 private offices, two conference rooms, a breakroom, as well as meeting and event space all available to nonprofits for rental at below market rates. Our facilities provide the professional environment necessary for organizational success, helping these organizations reduce overhead so more dollars support their mission. The Nonprofit Center of East Alabama is located in the repurposed Elk’s Lodge which is a local historic landmark.

Our 9-acre property also straddles the city limit line between two cities (Auburn and Opelika) which offers a strategic working and meeting location for nonprofits in this area.

We are located in Auburn, AL, home of Auburn University, and fortunate to have one of our favorite resources right here in our backyard: Auburn University’s Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies. The Cary Center offers both virtual and in-person programming and networking opportunities for nonprofits as well as an online Nonprofit Professional Certificate program. For more information, you can access the organization’s website at www.carycenter.auburn.edu.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy has also been a great resource for us as we strive to stay up to date on key issues affecting nonprofits. We also take advantage of the free online forums that The Chronicle offers for timely discussions with nonprofit professionals and experts to stay on top of trends in fundraising, technology, and leadership.
