Across the nonprofit sector, one reality continues to surface in conversations with our members: securing funding is becoming more complex, more competitive, and more time-consuming. While philanthropy remains deeply committed to community impact, navigating the grant landscape can often feel like a full-time job.
For organizations stewarding social purpose real estate and community spaces, this challenge can be especially pronounced. These projects sit at the intersection of community development, nonprofit operations, and capital-intensive real estate work. As a result, funding opportunities are often spread across multiple sectors — from arts and culture to housing, economic development, and community revitalization. Simply identifying the right opportunities can require significant time and capacity.
At Community Spaces Network, we believe supporting the ecosystem of community-serving spaces also means supporting the organizations behind them. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new member benefit designed to help ease the burden of grant prospecting.
Beginning this month, CSN members will have access to a curated monthly list of grant opportunities through our Membership Portal. Each month, our team will compile and share funding opportunities from foundations, government sources, and philanthropic initiatives that may be relevant to organizations working in social purpose real estate, shared community spaces, and mission-driven development.
While no single resource can solve the broader funding challenges facing the sector, our goal is to make the search a little easier — helping members spend less time digging through databases and more time focusing on their mission and communities.
Members, please be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to access this new member benefit. For non-members, please reach out to us to learn more about this and other perks of being a Community Spaces Network member.
