Note from the Network: SPRE Summit 2025 Recap

Community Spaces Network is committed to convening and growing a network of SPRE professionals who support communities through the funding, development, and stewardship of high-quality, community-serving spaces across North America.

One of the key ways we advance this mission is through our biannual SPRE Summit. This year, we welcomed over 300 peers and experts from the U.S. and Canada to Los Angeles, CA, from May 6–8 for three days of learning, networking, and community building.

SPRE Summit 2025 featured 99 speakers across two plenary sessions that explored bold ideas around capital, ownership, and systemic change; 28 workshops offering actionable strategies on sustainability, shared services, co-ownership, and more; and six mini consults that provided attendees with small-group and one-on-one guidance from sector leaders. Rounding out the experience were tours of community spaces, happy hours, and dine-around dinners that deepened relationships and connections across the network.

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive: 100% of survey respondents rated the Summit 7 out of 10 or higher. Key takeaways included building lasting networks, deepening understanding of the SPRE sector, discovering new tools and resources, and gaining new skills and knowledge to apply in their work. Attendees especially appreciated the networking opportunities, the quality of the speakers, and the SPRE Tours. As one participant shared, “Cultivating connections and building relationships are crucial elements along the way.” Another noted, “This work is hard but deeply meaningful, and there is a community to support it.”

CSN is proud to serve as a catalyst for showcasing the collective efforts of the SPRE community and strengthening the connections that drive this work forward. We look forward to seeing familiar and new faces at SPRE Summit 2027. To get updates on the next SPRE Summit, please visit www.spresummit.org and sign up to receive information on future gatherings.
