Member Highlight: TSNE/NonProfit Center

Owned and operated by TSNE (tsne.org), the NonProfit Center is home to more than 50 nonprofits and welcomes visitors from thousands of organizations every year. The NPC is a hub of activity where people come to convene, connect, network, and learn together.

The NonProfit Center was the first mission-based, multi-tenant center for nonprofits in Massachusetts. Its nine floors of office space and state-of-the-art meeting facilities are available for rental at below-market rates to many nonprofits who would otherwise not be able to afford space in downtown Boston.

The NonProfit Center has LEED-certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and is ENERGY STAR® certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

TSNE’s Property Management Team manages four other properties in addition to the NonProfit Center, including The Link – a shared workspace for nonprofit organizations focused on workforce development.

What is one interesting fact about your space?

The NonProfit Center is home to a diverse collection of nonprofit organizations that serve a variety of populations like people with disabilities, domestic violence survivors, immigrant communities, children, and more. Additionally, the staff at the NonProfit Center are also diverse, representing more than 30 countries of origin across the globe. The NPC is truly a space that brings people together.

What are your favorite resources that you would recommend to others?

One of Property Management’s favorite systems is Building Engines. Building Engines allows us to efficiently manage work in multiple sites, send out broadcasts to all tenants, and to stay on top of paperwork such as insurance certificates.

We are also big fans of FX Workbench, our energy management system, which allows us to control all systems in the building remotely,
