WEBS Training Center is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and youth across DC, Maryland, and Virginia through hands-on education, financial literacy, health, and sustainability programs. Our mission is to break down barriers for underserved communities by offering accessible resources and empowering experiences. We host events like Salsa Sprouts: Loudoun Roots & Wonders, a vibrant festival uniting hundreds of families for gardening, wellness, and community-building. Our programs range from free tax assistance and CPR training to entrepreneurship workshops and gardening kit distribution. We focus on practical impact, helping people build resilience, confidence, and new opportunities in their lives. At WEBS Training Center, we believe every family deserves a chance to thrive and every child deserves to see what’s possible for their future.
What is one interesting fact about your space?
This year, WEBS Training Center is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gardening Lesson, a hands-on, community-driven event designed to inspire hundreds of families and showcase the power of collective learning.
What are your favorite resources that you would recommend to others?
We recommend local Cooperative Extension offices for gardening and sustainability guidance, VolunteerMatch for finding or posting service opportunities, and the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for free tax help. For nonprofits, GrantStation and Candid are invaluable for funding research, and Canva is our go-to for creating engaging outreach materials.
